Job Description and Qualifications Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a qualified Plant Operator at our Westlake, LA site.

The site is also tied into an existing Houston/East Texas hydrogen pipeline system and supplies a portion of its hydrogen production to other customers in the Houston/East Texas Franchise.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have a High School Diploma/GED.
- Qualified candidates should have a solid scholastic/work background.
- Must have 1-5 years of experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment or related military experience.
- Skills in water treatment systems is a plus.
- Experience in power generation is a plus.
- Degree in Process Technology or military background strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
- Must be willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule including nights and weekends. Must also be willing to be on call.
- Must be willing to occasionally travel to other Air Products plant sites in the region to support various operational activities.
- The ideal candidate must be a team player with good communication skills, have a positive attitude, have a focus on safety, be self-motivated, and be willing to cross train on other job functions. The ideal candidate must also be willing to work alone as needed.
