Job Description
Arcadis is seeking a detail oriented, well organized, dependable Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer with excellent interpersonal skills to join our Baton Rouge, Louisiana AFS team as a Project Manager I.  Position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, good work ethic, and a passion for high quality workmanship. Roles at this level will operationally manage core projects or programs of work to deliver defined objectives. They are responsible for delivering their scope of work in line with budgetary, compliance, regulatory and planning controls, and will have deep technical knowledge and broad business experience.
 
Primary responsibilities include:
 
  • Oversee an agreed scope of work and/or the operational workload of a team or contractors, ensuring allocated work is completed and resources are fully utilized to deliver an agreed program of work
  • Work within established financial systems to independently produce plans and schedules, and track and manage budgets, highlighting variances to manage and control project delivery targets
  • Assist in identifying and addressing client interests and communications
  • ID potential client opportunities
  • Interact effectively and proactively across the organization, seeking to develop ways to support collaboration and ensure projects/programs can be delivered to meet internal customer expectations
  • Writing and preparation of reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
  • Data management (compilation, manipulation, and evaluation of data)
  • Conducting alternatives analysis
  • Assist in task scope definition, planning of assigned task packages and coordination of resources
  • Understand and regularly monitor basic financial aspects of a project
  • Assist with proposals
  • Responsible for mentoring and professional development of junior staff; may oversee junior-level staff
  • Preparing periodic status/program reports
  • Contacting regulatory and municipal agencies and subcontractors/vendors to coordinate field activities and obtain project-related information
  •  Understand Health and Safety (H&S) requirements and contribute and promote H&S in the workplace
Desired key attributes:  
 
  • Relevant professional qualification  
  • Experience managing business relationships at senior management level
  • Strong knowledge of Louisiana state regulations
  • Must be proficient with MS Word and MS Excel to prepare technical reports and spreadsheet data entry
  • Experience with Louisiana Department on Environmental Quality Regulations (RECAP)
  • Experience with Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Regulations (LA 29B)
  • Experience with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Regulations
  • Experience with Texas Railroad Commission Regulations
  •  Experience with Alabama Department of Environmental Management Regulations
  •  Previous Upstream and/or Downstream Oil and Gas Experience
