  • Summary

    Self-starter with extraordinary work ethic who is chartered with creating and supporting value propositions within a specified territory or strategic account, educating the sales team, promoting expertise and developing application solutions. This is an active sales position in the sales organization in the following areas: Analytical Sales Specialist, Technical Field Specialist, Solutions Field Specialist, Business planning and Sales plan execution.

    Prime Responsibilities

    Technical Field Specialist

    • Spread technical knowledge - Ensure the sales channel is proficient in demonstrating basic setup of instrumentation within the specified product line, present key features and benefits of the product line as related to key markets and competitors, applying instruments to common applications
    • Manage new product launches to sales channel and customers
    • Educate and train customers and sales channel on Instrumentation best practices - installation guidelines, applications, develop and drive specifications at Engineering Firms and System Integrators, technical presentations at local/regional events
    • Competitive Customer Conversion – Work with Sales Channel to identify key competitive accounts and develop a plan to convert to Endress+Hauser
    • Technical liaison between Marketing and Sales to identify specific product needs

    Solutions Field Specialist

    • Promote E+H as an advanced solutions provider - Lead efforts in promoting advanced solutions focused around a particular product line (FMS, IMS, Tank Gauging, etc) through CoC/project coordination, and new/existing customer identification
    • Train and Educate the Sales Force on specific Solutions segments – Work with Marketing to provide training to our Sales Channel
    • When necesary independently pursue new solutions opportunities and customers
    • Technical Liaison between Marketing and Sales to develop “solutions” based collateral and identify customer needs
    • Develop ROI statements in collaboration with marketing for key solutions opportunities

    Business planning and Sales plan execution

    • Develop and execute targeted sales plans - increase business for the specified product line, include cross selling for Endress+Hauser and complementary lines, strategic account penetration, MRO growth strategies etc.
    • Work closely with Industry Managers to develop and execute strategic activities to promote specific products
    • Drive project acquisition through strategic focus and collaboration with our Regional Sales Managers, Outside Sales Engineers and Project Acquisition Team


    Minimum Education

    BS in Engineering; Industrial Distribution, Chemical, Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management, or equivalent related experience.

    Require Travel?

    Yes, up to 50%.

    Previous Job Experiences


    • Endress+Hauser Inside Sales Engineering experience
    • Sales territory or strategic accounts management
    • Project management
    • Experience in one or more of the following: Process Analytical Technology, Process Reliability Engineering, Quality Program Management, QA/QC or R&D Laboratory Management
    • 5 yr. Product management, sales and/or application engineer experience in automation and instrumentation industry.
    • 2 yr. Marketing/Sales experience in Analytical product and/or Industry marketing experience
