Process Engineer sought by Nucor Steel Louisiana LLC for the Convent location. Candidate must have a Bach's or foreign equiv deg in Chemical or Energy Engg & 3 yrs of exp in dsgng, analyzing, & optimizing efficient chemical processes for combustible & hydrogen-rich gas streams utilizing energy, kinetics, & heat transfer principles. Must have exp in: Analyzing hydrogen-rich gas systems & dvlpg thermodynamic simulations to establish equilibrium variances for decarbonization strategies. Dvlpg digital twin models of Tenova HYL technology for Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) making processes utilizing Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, & ProMax. Leading systematic identification of HAZOP risks associated w/ methane reformers, HYL reduction reactors, gas handling systems, CO/H circuits, pressure vessels, heaters, & auxiliary systems. Reviewing & ensuring compliance of complex chemical conditions for critical thermal eqpmt, pressure vessels, fire systems, & gas handling in accordance w/ int'l codes/standards ASME, TEMA, & API. Up to 20% int'l & domestic travel reqd for meetings, trainings, & consultations w/ other divisions/factories.
