Position Description

Primary Purpose:
Safely operate various types of equipment related to movement and transporting of bulk products as dictated by customer needs and requirements.
Essential duties and responsibilities:

oOperation of equipment which includes, but is not limited to: Pay loaders, E-Crane, Krupp Stacker/Reclaimer, D-9 and D-10 dozers, Bruks Ship loader, and CBUL.

oPerform all functions of terminal operations as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Plant Coordinator consistent with standard operating procedures and federal, state, and local regulations.
oPerform routine inspections and maintenance on assigned equipment and report findings in accordance with policy and procedure.
oPerform all functions in a timely, efficient, and cost effective manner.
oParticipate in and successfully complete required training and related testing.
oActively participate in and promote our Safety, Quality, and Environmental Compliance (SQE) culture.
oComply with Federal, OSHA, EPA, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
oCommunicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
oEnsure assigned equipment and terminal housekeeping is conducted as required.
oAll other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements


oHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience/specific knowledge:

oExperience in equipment operations and bulk handling facility.

Certifications, licenses, and registrations:

oAbility to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) as issued by TSA (Transportation Security Administration).

Competencies, skills, and abilities:

oAbility to effectively communicate, orally (face to face and by telephone) and in writing, in English with coworkers, contractors, government officials, and Senior Management.

oAbility to read and understand written material (in English), including use and understanding of basic numerical calculations, safety rules and operations instructional guides and procedure manual.
oAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.
oMust have basic math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
oAbility to read and interpret documents.
Physical demands:

oMust be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.

oMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
oMust be willing to work in protected areas at heights up to 45 feet above ground.
oMust be able to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
oMust be able to hear and smell for deficiencies or hazards.
oMust be able to pass a respiratory fit test.
Working conditions:

oMust be able to work in all weather conditions.

oMust be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed as required.
oMust be able to respond to call-out as assigned.
oMust be able to work over water (dock).
oMust be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, keep required work schedule, focus on attention to details, and follow work rules.
Preferred education, experience, competencies, skills and abilities:

oPrior bulk terminal experience preferred.

Prior heavy equipment experience preferred.
