TheWellness Instructor oversees the activities of participants in the EmployeeWellness, Adult Wellness, and Cardiac Rehab Phase III Programs. 


Assistsclients with equipment and exercise prescription; follow closely new and firsttime clients for at least one week; follow up with established clients at leastonce a week; keep the exercise area/equipment clean; ensure an adequate supplyof client towels, juice, and other client supplies; perform preventivemaintenance of equipment or call clinical engineering if necessary. Reviewsclient exercise cards, update if necessary; file cards; conduct tests for Wellnessevaluations on essentially well individuals who are at low risk for coronaryartery disease; adjust and write exercise prescriptions for same. Assists incoordination and implementation of community and corporate health activities;demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to theadolescent through geriatric clients; ability to assess data reflective of theclient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identifyeach client’s requirements relative to his/her adolescent through geriatricneeds.


A.     B.A. or B.S. inexercise science, kinesiology, or other health-related field preferred.

B.     ACSMCertification  as Health Wellnessspecialist preferred

C.     Personal TrainerCertification preferred

D.     Ability toaccurately assess vital signs (pulse and blood pressure)

E.      Basicunderstanding of functional anatomy and training principle as related to:

•         Power - High intensity, short duration

•        Endurance - Lowintensity, long duration

F.      CPR certified, or certified within 30 days of hire






A.      Heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor

B.      Maximum lift of 25-50 pounds on a frequent basis, with a maximum lift of 50 -100 poundson occasion ; ability to lift, push, pull, and/or move objects and equipmentthat fit within these weight categories

C.      Standing, walking needed to move equipment

D.      Work is predominately inside

E.       Occasional traveling may be required
