Financial Audit Position Requirements
(Either 1, 2, or 3 qualifies)
- A baccalaureate degree in accounting from an accredited college or university with sufficient hours, or a written commitment to obtain the necessary hours to take the Certified Public Accountant examination in Louisiana.
- A baccalaureate degree (other than accounting) from an accredited college or university with sufficient hours to take the Certified Public Accountant examination in Louisiana.
- Possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant.

Financial Audit – Develop a working knowledge of governmental accounting and auditing standards and exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills. Staff auditors are expected to work toward becoming a Certified Public Accountant, if not already certified.
