Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) is seeking applications to fill the position of 12 month HVAC Engineer. This position is located on the Mid-City campus, but will be required to travel to BRCC satellite sites, which include Acadian, Ardendale, Central, Frazier, Jackson, New Roads, and Port Allen.**Applications will be accepted until position is filled.**
This position reports to the Assistant Facilities Director

Four years of experience in the installation or maintenance of pneumatic, electrical or electronic control systems for heating (including boiler), ventilating, or air conditioning systems.
Training in the installation or maintenance of pneumatic, electrical or electronic control systems for heating (including boiler), ventilating, or air conditioning systems will substitute for a maximum of two years of the required experience on a month for month basis.
- Examples of Work
Provides supervisory, technical, and complex diagnostic analysis for all HVAC, refrigeration, electronic, electrical, and pneumatic control systems.
Supervises subordinate technicians in locating and diagnosing malfunctions and performing technical repairs on HVAC controls, meters, and instruments.
Develops, implements and supervises the preventive maintenance program for all HVAC refrigeration control systems.
Ensures, wherever possible, that the performance of HVAC refrigeration systems remain within established parameters through a continuously controlled and monitored operation.
Supervises subordinates' technical work in the installation of HVAC refrigeration control systems.
Recommends the installation of sensors and safety controls that will detect overheating of motors, bearings, excessive vibration, and other problems in order to prevent operation of HVAC - refrigeration equipment when unsafe/mechanical problems exist.
Supervises and assists in performing complete air balancing of HVAC systems.
Maintains complete files including technical data, vendor, and control equipment information on all HVAC and refrigeration control systems.
Recommends changes to existing control systems to obtain maximum and desired results.
Prepares layout drawings for HVAC - refrigeration controls systems.
